"It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation about Mat Daniels and Hammerhead Construction.  My wife and I purchased a second home at the coast with the hopes of making it our full-time residence in the near future.  The house we bought was a foreclosed home that had been vacant for over a year and had badly maintained and treated in the year or so prior to foreclosure.  Our home was a wreck to say the least.  It required a complete renovation.  We met Mat while interviewing 3 other contractors and based on Mat’s communication style and his ideas we chose to go with him and Hammerhead.  We couldn’t be happier with that decision!

 

From the outset, Mat was easy to talk with, communicated clearly his plan and was the only contractor we met with that actually brought ideas to the table about the project, finishings and other areas of concern we should consider, rather than just listening to what we wanted and saying yes.  Throughout the project Mat consistently communicated with us about the project and progress being made, the next steps to be taken, and even included his wife Tara into many of the design aspects.  They have an incredible sense of style and attention to detail; and also brought many cost-saving ideas to our attention that would deliver the results and effects we wanted without sacrificing quality or craftsmanship all while saving us dollars that would have been spent unnecessarily.

 

As a business owner myself, I am acutely aware of the need to have good employees and the fact that they are a direct reflection of my business and the quality of services I provide.  I must say that Mat has great employees who were just as good in terms of communication and quality of work, concern for our space, and for our property, as himself.  I witnessed many times and was part of many discussions surrounding the project where ideas and directions were shared and given, and Mat’s people were top-notch and down to business.  I believe this to be a direct reflection of Mat, his wife, and the way they run their company.  Integrity, excellence, commitment, and someone whom you can take at their word is how I would describe Mat and Hammerhead.

 

Our project is now very nearly complete…only a couple punch list items left, and as I said before the decision to work with Hammerhead is one that I am thankful we made.  My recommendation for Mat, Tara, and Hammerhead could not be greater.  If you are choosing a contractor to work on your project I believe that you could not do any better than to choose to work with Hammerhead.  Mat, Tara, and his team have truly helped my wife and I achieve a dream that we have had for many years.  Thank you Mat and thank you, Tara, as well as all the Hammerhead crew for making such a huge part of our dream come true!"

"In 2009/2010 we hired Hammer Head Construction, LLC (Mat Daniels) to undertake a massive remodel of our house at Devils Lake, Otis, OR.  It was a 1949 5,000 square foot house that had extensive dry rot, engineering, structural, and prior-owner remodeling flaws.  This project included significant design and engineering work.  The entire 100-foot long roof needs to be replaced, as well as all of the plumbing, wiring, sheetrock needed to be redone. They also replaced all windows, doors, trim, appliances, flooring, etc.  It was basically a complete rebuild.  Hammer Head Converted this from a mess into a very high-end residence.

 

We have had prior construction disasters at the coast and were very wary about doing this remodel.  We did a significant investigation with nine prior customers of Hammer Head Construction and were shocked at the “love fest” of referrals received.  We talked at length with most of them before we proceeded.  Now, Hammer Head Construction can add us to their list of satisfied customers.
